Happy New Year everyone!
With Christmas being over and New Years resolutions flying around, I thought I’d take a moment to stop on by and actually work towards achieving those resolutions!
My resolutions this year are pretty simple. I own a lot of Stampin’ Up! stamp sets at this point. I love them all but I don’t seem to be using them all. There are a few upstairs in that craft room right now that haven’t even been put together. I am so engrossed in all my other crafts that I’m not using the products that I spend the most money on! So, my resolution this year is to take a different stamp set each week or every other week and make cards out of each and every stamp in each and every stamp set I own! That way I can justify my purchases and you know, order more!! 🙂 And of course, with the card making comes the posting of the cards I make. I also resolve to post all the new cards I make! Fingers crossed that I stick to it!
Anyway, a few weeks ago, I posted a picture of my Christmas tree undecorated. Well, we finally got around to putting the ornaments on there so I thought I would share before we take it on down again! I mentioned in that previous post that one of my long-term goals is to have only homemade ornaments on that tree so I thought I would share a few of those as well! I hope you like them!
The first one was stitched together out of little pieces of felt. I believe that came from a kit a few years ago. The little snowman ornaments were made out of Sculpey polymer clay. They were super fun to make. After about 3 or 4 hours, your fingers start to hurt from kneeding the clay but they are just so cute! I also bought a ton of clear glass ornaments. Out of these, I made a lot of different kinds of ornaments. I used glass paint on some of them to make designed stained-glass ornaments. I also used Stampin’ Up! products, like the dazzling diamonds and ink refills bottles, to make glittering ornaments that are very Charles-friendly by having all the glitter inside!
I do have a variety of Christmas cards that I made right before Christmas that I haven’t managed to post yet. But…I took them using my phone and being the technology-stupid person I am, I first have to figure out how to get the pictures off the phone before I can post. Stay tuned to see if I can ever figure this out!
Day 1 of New Years resolution card-making begins today! Wish me luck!
